We were able to get almost half of the basement blocks set into place. Looking at the bottom (darker) picture, The room furthest away is the lower garage. We have 3 courses of block(6ft) there and the rest of the basement has 2 courses(4 ft). My next step is to cut in the window that I forgot about and finish getting the rest of the basement to 3 courses of block. Then we can put up the wall bracing and finish going up another 2 1/2 course (5 ft). Yes, the basement will have 11 foot walls. I was happy with 10 foot walls but it made more sense to go up 1 more foot to get the main floor closer to road level so hopefully we won't have any problems with a wet basement.More to come......
